Awards

POSTER AWARDS

Three Poster Awards (500, 300 and 200 Euro) will be given to the authors of the best posters, selected by a special committee. Awards will be presented during the Cruise-Party (Friday, Sept. 7).

ESAO INNOVATION AWARDS

An Award of 500 Euro will be dedicated to the most innovative abstract presented. The selection will be made by a jury, based on abstract content and presentation. The awards will be presented during the Cruise-Party (Friday, Sept. 7).


ESAO Wichtig AWARD

The annual ESAO-Wichtig-Research Award is aimed at encouraging young scientists working in the area of experimental research, medical science, biochemistry, chemistry, physical chemistry, membrane science and chemical engineering involved in the general field of artificial organs with special emphasis on:

1. New applications in artificial organs and regenerative medicine techniques
2. Membrane applications in artificial organs
3. New techniques in the flied of blood purification

The awardees will be selected by a Committee appointed by the ESAO Board of Governors.

The ESAO-Wichtig-Research Award 2007 of € 2500 will be presented at the XXXIV ESAO Congress in Krems, Austria to be held on 5-8 September, 2007.

Each applicant should submit one original manuscript (with the applicant as the first author), together with 5 blind copies to be used in the anonymous peer-review process. Please also send an electronic version (pdf file) to the e-mail address below. The manuscript has to fulfil one of the following conditions:

1. Published after July 1st, 2006, or
2. Accepted for publication at the time of application, or
3. Simultaneously submitted for publication to the ESAO Journal (The International Journal of Artificial Organs).

A current curriculum vitae with a bibliography of the candidate's work should also be submitted. The applicant has to be under the age of 38 at the time of submission.

Applications should be submitted by registered mail, and electronically, before July 15, 2007.
